Committee Office Bearers

LEONI READ
President
Leoni Read (M. Ed., B. A., Grad. Dip. Ed. (Language and Literacy))- is a retired Teacher who specialised in adult literacy and teaching English to students of other languages. She has taught overseas in a school for poor Pakistani students in Oman.
Leoni is a Lay Preacher for the Uniting Church of Australia.

ROBERT READ
Vice President
Robert Read (B. Sc.) – is a retired Hydrogeologist working with water supplies in arid areas. He has experience working in diverse cultural settings in central Australia and overseas in Oman.

IAN HUBBLE
Secretary
Ian Hubble (Dip. Ag. Sci., M. Ag. Sci., Cert IV Assessment and Workplace Training) – is a retired agricultural scientist having worked in Victoria and Tasmania. He was President of the Burnie Refugee Support Committee under the Federal Government Migrant Resource Centre to facilitate the effective settlement of migrants and refugees in the northwest region of Tasmania.

ANITA GREENE
Treasurer
Anita Greene (Cert III IT, Cert III Ed. Supp., Dip. Dem. Care) – is currently a home educating parent. Her previous roles have included working as Teacher’s Aide, Online Access Centre Coordinator, HIPPY Tutor, Customer Service Officer with Libraries Tasmania and as a School Library Technician.

JOHN PACKHAM
Public Officer
John Packham – is a retired third-generation bread manufacturer, having worked in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania and India. He is a member of the Burnie Uniting Church, and a Church Councillor. He was a Life Member of Lions Clubs International, and is a current member of Rotary International and Life Member of the Burnie Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Committee Member
Peter Cunningham (Dip. Teaching) – is a retired Educator, having taught in various schools in Tasmania. He is a Church Deacon and Treasurer.

PETER DONNELLY
Committee Member
Peter Donnelly (Plumber and Gas Fitter, Certificate, City and Guilds, UK) – is a retired plumber and gas fitter, having worked on new houses and repairs during his career.

DEBORAH BELL
Committee Member
Deborah Bell (B. App. Sc. (Physio)) – now retired, Deborah was a primary school teacher with a particular interest in working with students with reading difficulties. She then undertook further studies and worked as a physio for 19 years.

MARK YOUNG
Committee Member
Mark Young (Assoc. Dip. Ag., Cert IV Timber Technology, Cert IV First Line Management) – former small business owner and timber yard workhand. Currently is a very active Tutor and participant for U3A Kentish and is a keen musician.
